Why no mobile device/phone?

The cognitive portion of the BestWork Experience is designed to measure your abilities as accurately and fairly as possible. For this reason, it must be completed on a laptop or desktop computer.

Some participants discover that they can enable Desktop Mode on a mobile device to access the questionnaire. While this may allow the questionnaire to load, it is not recommended and can significantly affect your performance.

Why a Computer Matters

The cognitive questionnaire is timed. The more quickly you can understand and answer each question, the more questions you will have the opportunity to attempt, giving you the best chance of achieving your highest possible score.

Many questions also require you to compare and manipulate shapes and visual patterns. These questions are designed to be viewed on a larger screen where all images are visible at the same time.

On a mobile device, even in Desktop Mode, you may need to:

  • Scroll between images or parts of a question.
  • Zoom in and out to see important details.
  • Spend additional time navigating instead of solving the problem.
  • Miss subtle visual differences that are easier to recognize on a larger display.

These extra challenges reduce the amount of time available to answer questions and can negatively impact your results.

Our Recommendation

For the best possible experience and the fairest opportunity to demonstrate your abilities:

  • Complete the cognitive questionnaire on a laptop or desktop computer.
  • Do not attempt to use a mobile device, even if Desktop Mode appears to work.
  • Wait until you have access to an appropriate computer before continuing.

While it may seem convenient to bypass the device restriction, doing so is likely to reduce your performance and lower your score compared to participants using the recommended equipment.

Using the proper device gives you the best opportunity to demonstrate your abilities and achieve the strongest possible results.
